LEGENDS AND MYTHS OF JAFFA

Jaffa

מרכז מבקרים יפו העתיקה

A unique combination of hard evidence of the past - the excavations and the ceramic foundries mixed with stories and legends in a format of old pages from child's books.
Photomurals of vistas showing the port of Jaffa in its golden age - the 18-19 centuries are stretched against the walls.

Amongst the stories: the legend of Andromeda (a Greece myth), the story about King Richard Lion Hart lending at coasts of Jaffa and Johnas the prophet and the whale.
The whole site is covered by a unique metal structure roof, that can serve as a podium for the public square above the under ground site. The structure was designed by arc. S. Mandel.
