Chabad Phuket Community Center

Chabad Phuket is envisioned as a contemporary Jewish community center set within the tropical landscape of Phuket, Thailand. Designed as a warm, open, and welcoming home, the project brings together prayer, learning, hospitality, family life, and community gatherings under one architectural vision.

Located by the lake and surrounded by lush vegetation, the building creates a strong connection between Jewish identity and the natural character of the island. The design combines wood, stone, glass, shaded outdoor areas, and rich tropical planting to create an atmosphere that is both spiritual and relaxed.

At the heart of the project are generous communal spaces designed for Shabbat meals, holidays, events, lectures, and daily encounters. The main hall is open, flexible, and filled with natural light, allowing large gatherings while maintaining a sense of warmth and intimacy.

The synagogue and study areas are designed with dignity and simplicity, offering a calm and inspiring environment for prayer, learning, and reflection. Throughout the building, the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces are softened, allowing light, air, and greenery to become an essential part of the experience.

The project also places great emphasis on families and children. Outdoor play areas, shaded gardens, seating zones, and activity spaces create a safe and lively environment where community life can unfold naturally throughout the day.

Chabad Phuket is more than a building. It is a home for the Jewish community in Phuket — a place of connection, tradition, hospitality, and belonging, shaped by the unique spirit of the island.
