Ramla Museum – Where History Comes to Life
Housed in a historic 1922 British Mandate-era building, the Ramla Museum reopened in 2024 with a modern, interactive exhibition. Four main galleries explore daily life, commerce, art, and the city’s multicultural history from the 8th century to today.
Highlights include rare archaeological finds from local digs, a unique 1950s immigrant camp display, and two remarkable coin hoards: the Gold Hoard – 376 gold coins and ingots, displayed with a “floating coin” effect, and the Mamluk Coin Hoard, featuring coins from Syria, Egypt, Rome, and ancient Judea.
The Mandate and Independence Gallery showcases Ramla’s WWII-era airfield and Palmach flight school.
And yes – don’t miss the curious story of Harry Potter’s grave… in Ramla!
