בית העצמאות - תל אביב
Independence hall - Tel Aviv
Independence Hall
The Independence Hall project seeks to offer a renewed interpretation of one of the most significant places in Israeli national memory — the site where the establishment of the State of Israel was declared.
The work focused on creating a contemporary, respectful, and experiential visual language, combining the preservation of the building’s historic atmosphere with the use of technology, lighting, projections, and interactive installations. The goal was to create an emotional, accessible, and multi-sensory museum experience, allowing visitors to connect with the moment of the Declaration not only as historical information, but as a living, present, and meaningful event.
Throughout the different spaces, elements of dramatic lighting, screens, projections, moving text, historical imagery, and reconstructed environments were integrated, creating a journey through memory, identity, and national narrative. The design emphasizes a gradual transition between the exhibition spaces — from interactive and experiential areas to the main hall, which serves as the emotional climax of the visit.
The design language balances restraint, respect, and history with visual and technological innovation. The materials, lighting, and compositions were carefully selected to preserve a sense of depth, time, and ceremony, while creating a contemporary experience suited for a wide audience — students, families, tourists, and visitors from Israel and around the world.
The project offers a new perspective on a defining moment in the history of the State of Israel, translating it into a living, emotional, and meaningful space — a place where history is not only displayed on the walls, but felt throughout the entire environment.
